Convertible Versus Drop-Side Cribs

Choosing good Convertible Crib Mattresses can be a daunting task for any parents. There are basically 2 types of mattresses, which are foam mattress and the inner spring mattress. Inner Spring Mattresses for Convertible Cribs are slightly bulky but durable in the long run. They retain their shapes for a very long time inspite of their daily use.

An infant bed or a crib is a small bed for kids or babies. Of this Convertible Cribs are now becoming widely popular. All Convertible Cribs are supposed to follow the Consumer Product Safety Commission standards. A seal of approval from Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association (JPMA) signifies that the Crib meets all the safety standards.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission along with Suntech Enterprises Inc., of City of Commerce, California announced on April 2, 2009 a recall for SunKids Convertible Cribs. Around 1900 Cribs were recalled due to structural defects in the Cribs. Some parents dislike the idea of Convertible Crib, transforming to form a toddler or a twin bed. The reason they give is that it still looks and feels like a crib even when it is used as a twin bed.

A Two-In-One Convertible Crib is one which can be converted from a baby bed to a toddler bed. This can be used as a toddler bed when at least one side of the crib is removed. A Five-In-One Convertible Crib is one which can be converted to a twin bed and can also incorporate an additional loveseat. These Cribs are the modified versions of a Four-in-One Convertible Crib.

A big choice that new parents must often make is the type of crib to get for the nursery ” a traditional drop-side crib, or the more recently introduced cribs that can be converted into toddler beds and full-sized beds. Although personal preferences are very important here, my vote goes to convertible cribs for reasons of value and practicality as well as for decorative reasons.
